When you walk into a room in your home and it " feels good", then you know that all five of the hospitality senses have been firmly established ,
SEE, TASTE,HEAR, SMELL, and TOUCH. These are great hospitality secrets! Being aware of the five senses should always be in the back of your mind when you are decorating or preparing to entertain. When guests enter a room in your home, you want them to see something attractive right? So let's talk about some ideas that would make a home more attractive
"sight wise".

First, you want to make a clean and orderly" first impression". Even if you don't have a lot of nick~ knacks to decorate with, the clean and neat appearance of your home will immediately set your guest at ease!! |

Second, arrange something that is pleasing to the eye, it doesn't take a lot of work.......just a little experimentation. You can find great ideas from magazines, and decorating websites. One of my favorite sites is: theoldpaintedcottage.com If your like me, you can see a wonderful idea and then totally forget it later!! A great way to avoid this, is to create your own idea book. All you need is a medium size spiral notebook, plastic page covers, and a pair of scissor or a handy little cutting tool from a srapbook store......then when you find an idea cut it out or write it down and put it in your book!! It also makes a great conversation piece if you put it on a coffee table for guests to look at!! |

Thank you for stopping by The Coffee Cottage and remember~ "If bad decorating was a hanging offense, there'd be bodies hanging from every tree! "
